Flooring of Entrance Hall, Valletta - 2010

Natural coralline limestone floor slabs were selected with slight colour variation for the creation of the desired chequerboard effect. Slabs with a lighter tone were used around the periphery to frame the subtle pattern rotated by a forty-five degree angle. Larger smoother slabs used to clad the staircases were selected with a variation in pattern and incorporating both tones used in the flooring. The hall serves as the entrance to a residence in Valletta.
